More information:

A Greek athlete scraping his skin with a strigil (now lost). This statue is one of many copies of the Ephesian type of Apoxyomenos, the lost original of which probably dates to ca. 320 BC. The statue was discovered in the Adriatic Sea off of the island of Mali Losinj. It is the finest and most complete example of its type.
