Aljama Mosque, Madinat al-Zahara (Medina Azahara), Spain, 2007. The mosque Medina Azahara was consecrated in 941. It bore a close resemblance to the Great Mosque of Cordoba and has been called its 'little sister'. Madinat al-Zahra was a Muslim medieval town located about 5 kilometres from Cordoba. Its ruins were discovered in the early 20th century.
