The field for the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play tournament in 2012 features 62 of the world's top 64 ranked golfers, including the complete top 10 in the world and noted golf enthusiast Tiger Woods. Notably taking the tournament off is Phil Mickelson -- ranked No. 11 in the world -- who scheduled a family vacation for this week. Also taking the week off is No. 23-ranked Paul Casey, who is recovering from an injury.
They are replaced by the No. 65 and 66 players in the world, Ernie Els and George Coetzee. Els is a three-time major championship winner and has been a semifinalist in this tournament. Coetzee is playing in his first career World Golf Championships event.
The top four players in the world, Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy and Martin Kaymer, will be the top four seeds in the tournament. If the top seeds and Woods avoid upsets, he would likely meet one of those four in the Round of 16.
