Serbia is negotiating with Russia on purchasing MiG-29M2 fighters for the national air forces, Business-TASS reports with reference to a source close to the Russian military-industrial sector.
The possibility of purchasing the fighters has been discussed by two Ministers of Defense – Sergey Shoygu and Alexander Vucic – during meeting held in the network of Moscow European security conference. Serbian party intends to purchase from 6 to 8 MiG-29M2 fighters. The jets may be purchased using an export credit provided to Belgrade by Moscow. This deal may become a part of a total package procurement contract.
