We're thrilled to welcome JTC to our headquarters for a discussion on the intricate aspects of underground projects, where high density of utilities are running in Jurong Island. Our conversation delved deeply into the progress of Multi-Channel GPR technology for mapping utilities, compared to the single/dual channel series. We discussed extensively on the need for trained analysts when it come to the interpretation to obtain acceptable results. The process of mapping utilities empowers planners to conduct feasibility studies with greater precision, optimizing both project expenses and timelines while minimizing the likelihood of unexpected discoveries on-site. Ensuring thorough utility mapping during the design phase results in fewer complications during the construction phase. HSC adeptly handles the risks associated with unidentified utility alignments, facilitating smarter construction methodologies and enhancing overall project efficiency. Pleased to announce that A*STAR has been awarded for BCA's Cities of Tomorrow Grant Call 1: Technologies to Geo-reference and Detect Underground Services and Assets for New Estates. Through this grant call, there will be - •Development of robotic and automation techniques and technologies - Establishment of new workflows to accurately map, document and geo-referenced underground services - As-built documentation accurate with geo-reference (<100mm error) for future Addition and Alteration (A&A) works. - Productivity improvements for scanning, mapping and documentation of as-built - Improve accuracy of as-built documentation of newly built underground services (water, electrical, gas, sewage, tele-communications) in new projects before they are covered. - Reduce time and uncertainty involved in locating the buried services and assets for future Addition and Alteration (A&A) works and prevent damage incidents. We kick start our Q2 Safety Campaign today, focusing on Safe Lifting in the Workplace. Lifting operations is a key and critical component in our works and we use different types of lifting machineries. The campaign has 3 main objectives: Protecting Personnel: To safeguard the operators, riggers, signalers, and all other personnel involved in the lifting operation. This involves providing appropriate safety training, enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Preventing Property Damage: Cranes are powerful machines capable of lifting heavy loads. Safeguarding property, including buildings, equipment, and materials, is critical. Proper planning, risk assessment, and control measures can prevent damage during crane operations. Complying with Regulations: Adhering to local regulations governing crane operations is essential. This includes having qualified personnel, maintaining equipment to standards, and obtaining necessary permits or licenses. This round, we invited all our colleagues to participate in the campaign by sending our their video or poster design.
