We hosted Lasse, visiting researcher from Denmark. We discussed extensively on the need for a low-cost / low-barrier-to-entry data capture technology to democratise the data capture. Data visualisation was also a key element that for the construction teams to be able to see pits/trenches that had been excavated before and also potential mapped utilities that are along the road. We kick start our Q2 Safety Campaign today, focusing on Safe Lifting in the Workplace. Lifting operations is a key and critical component in our works and we use different types of lifting machineries. The campaign has 3 main objectives: Protecting Personnel: To safeguard the operators, riggers, signalers, and all other personnel involved in the lifting operation. This involves providing appropriate safety training, enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Preventing Property Damage: Cranes are powerful machines capable of lifting heavy loads. Safeguarding property, including buildings, equipment, and materials, is critical. Proper planning, risk assessment, and control measures can prevent damage during crane operations. Complying with Regulations: Adhering to local regulations governing crane operations is essential. This includes having qualified personnel, maintaining equipment to standards, and obtaining necessary permits or licenses. This round, we invited all our colleagues to participate in the campaign by sending our their video or poster design.
