Rick Wakeman, keyboardist extraordinaire, keeps a relentless worldwide touring schedule, his team rocking with Allen & Heath to deliver his sound with precision. Wakeman’s FOH engineer, Ian Barfoot, explains, “I’ve worked with Rick since 1985, and I think this band is probably the best he’s ever worked with, so there’s a certain amount of pressure, even after all these years, to really do them justice—the flexibility, sound and power of the Allen & Heath ecosystem has been instrumental in enabling us to do that.” Read the full article on Mix Magazine via link in the comments below! #allenandheath #audioengineer #FOH #rickwakeman #keyboardist #mixingconsoles #proaudio

Frisking at PVR....Open Letter to Respected CEO Of PVR Mr. Ajay Bijili. Open Letter to Mr. Ajay Bijili, I am an avid moviegoer, often referred to as a movie buff, who frequents the theaters to enjoy films. For several years now, I've been a regular at PVR cinemas, where I watch a substantial number of movies. On average, I catch around 75-100 films annually, with roughly 90% of them being at PVR outlets. Lately, however, I've encountered some concerning issues with the PVR staff and management that I feel compelled to address. There have been instances where I faced difficulties with ticket booking PVR App. On certain occasion, the booking amount was debited from my account, but I didn't receive the corresponding ticket. The lack of information surrounding this left me in a perplexing situation, and I was forced to spend a significant amount of time – sometimes up to an hour – contacting customer care to resolve the matter. This needless hassle caused undue stress and inconvenience. Equally distressing is the treatment I've experienced during security frisking before entering the theater. On a couple of occasions, security personnel insisted on rummaging through my pockets while demanding, "Kya hi pocket may nikalo," which translates to "What do you have in your pocket?" This demeaning encounter has taken place twice, and though it happened in the past, I let it slide. However, the fact that such treatment is meted out based on the guard's mood and personal judgments is absolutely unacceptable. (As a professional I am running a company with employees under my guidance), being subjected to this kind of scrutiny at a cinema hall is utterly degrading. The need to present my pockets' contents, which might include couple papers and coins or medicine strip or purse, to the security personnel for approval, followed by a nonchalant "Theek hi" (it's fine), is both vexing and demoralizing. I want to convey that I've decided to discontinue watching movies at PVR due to these disheartening experiences. The joy of watching films should never be overshadowed by the distressing treatment and unnecessary inconveniences. I believe it's essential to uphold a certain level of dignity and respect for all patrons, regardless of their background or profession. I hope that this letter serves as a means to address these concerns and foster positive change within the PVR cinema experience.

🔊 👏🏼 🏆 First review on the ASCENDO Immersive Audio GmbH 16" Sealed Active Subwoofer. Very pleased with the applause award 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. THE VERDICT 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Ascendo Immersive Audio's The 16 SUB is one of the most impressive subwoofers I've reviewed, regardless of budget. Surprisingly tight and agile for its size, it's not only able to bring a level of extension but a tunefulness that brings out the subtlest of bass notes in recordings. As welcome as these qualities are, they're all for nought if a subwoofer cannot produce enough visceral impact. I'm pleased to report that The 16 SUB is equally adept, providing enough blunt-force trauma to create an engrossing home cinema performance. So, despite its price tag, in this reviewer's opinion, this subwoofer is exceptionally good value and should be high on your audition list. Don't be surprised if, after doing so, you no longer feel the need to look any further. It should go without saying then that the Ascendo is highly recommended. https://lnkd.in/ghaF-euh #applause #subwoofer #bestsub #infrasonic #ascendo #wow

On tonight's Ask Me Anything at 9pm ET via Zoom, Chief Edge Officer David Goldberg is going to up your audition game so you can book more work. He'll show you why so many voice actors lose auditions, and how you can win them. Volunteers either get direction on their own audition script, or David will supply a practice audition script. And if you don’t volunteer, even observing is amazingly helpful! You'll learn how to: -Train your “ears” to hear what casting pros listen for – things most voice actors miss. -Distinguish yourself from audition competition. -Grab the attention of different members of the casting team. Each of them listens for different things. -Win more auditions . . . . #edgestudio #edgestudiovo #edgestudiovoiceover #voiceover #vo #voiceactors #voiceoverartists #voartists

I have implemented a live show hybrid live stream method that I call Techoscape. Techoscape is a method of shooting in 3rds and broadcasting the whole in native 16:9 and 9:16. The 9:16 is cropped, rotated and scaled real time using OBS. Users can then choose when they receive their steam to pick letterbox or portrait modes. I have used this in a large Karaoke production here https://lnkd.in/eRnWtRXY I am using HDMI switcher connected to two OBS gateways using independently switchable outputs. The benefits are limitless when incorporating in-show advertising. Users have a common way to digest a portrait advert under any live show and broadcast circumstances with a single advert campaign to all age groups. It took two years to develop this. I did do this with COTS (consumer off the shelf) tech but the methodology would require a few specialists on your production. And I have to imagine there is not a hardware video mixer that does some of the capabilities created in soft configuration and routing. Example here https://lnkd.in/eHj2-8Qh Any questions on what you are seeing here let me know. Save on your technical production by being smart. This will allow you to pay writers and actors so we can get back to some good productions. #production #broadcasting #obs #hybrid
