Last week I attended #hannovermesse2023 where I got the chance to engage and re-engage with partners and customers who are doing some amazing work in new fields! It was especially interesting and encouraging to see the momentum around #digitaltwins across the industry this year. While Digital Twins as a phrase has been around for a while, I felt that organisations are now truly understanding the WHY for the technology, and the need to create data design patterns that enable integration and contextualization of holistic data across the company to answer existing questions, but also to support them in re-imagining their future business. There was a strong Use Case led focus on Digital Twin technology at #hm23 - from core operational benefits such as - asset performance optimization, connected worker, production monitoring and forecasting, Energy consumption management, waste reduction, to using Digital Twins to create the right future direction through the use of AI/ML and unsupervised learning models. At the same time, deployment of digital twins is no longer as complex as one felt previously, with some great solutions from providers such as Bosch Wipro Matterport Mendix , MHP – A Porsche Company Storm Reply with Amazon Web Services (AWS) - making it significantly quicker and easier to deploy and drive value with the capability. Also encouraged by the strong focus on #sustainability - not just for the sake of being sustainable, but we are starting to think of how green business means good business. Some fantastic discussions on using data on operations, energy and environment to model the ecosystem. The learning - both from partners building solutions with Amazon Web Services (AWS) as well as customers on their business goals and approaches - has been tremendous and I am very grateful I had the chance to have these in-depth discussions about #industry4point0 and #iot Finally, being able to meet AWS colleagues from various geographies face to face, brought together with a common passion and purpose is invaluable!
