🚵🥔 Today is the last day of the Tour de France with the traditional sprint on the Champs-Élysées. But did you know that Agristo had a name change due to a memorable Tour victory? Until 1989, Agristo was called Agrigel. At that time, there was a company in France with the same name. This was discovered during the Tour de France. Greg Lemond won the time trial by 9 seconds ahead of twice winner Laurent Fignon. What has this got to do with potatoes? Lemond had on his jersey, printed in big letters, the name of the sponsor, Agrigel. When it became clear that this wasn’t a reference to Agrigel in Hulste, Antoon and Luc had to give up the name. In 1990, Agristo was christened.
