As a young leader, I already recognized the importance of shaping the world we live in and the boundless potential that leadership offers. Here are some valuable lessons I've learned at YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa which serve as a foundation for our future leadership roles: Vision and Purpose , Adaptability,Emotional Intelligence, continuous learning, Integrity and ethics, empowerment and delegation, Resilience, Inclusivity and Diversity Collaboration and Teamwork, Courage and Decisiveness,Sustainability and Social Responsibility, Humility, Lead by Example, Ethical Decision-Making and so on.

GROW AND EMPOWER LEADERS THROUGH PARTICIPATION: THE URSB LEADERSHIP EMPOWERMENT MODEL :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Everyone at Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is given an apportunity to lead, be a member of committees, chair meetings etc, on rotational basis. We have used this model for sometime to empower leaders. Last week, Hajjati Farida Kateregga chaired our Management meeting. She was tough on us as she guided on the areas of improvement. Humility in leadership is allowing others to take charge.

Yeeee!!! Can spot myself in the picture. During my participation in The Africa Finance Corporation's Climate Leadership Challenge, a transformative journey spanning six weeks, I gained valuable insights into the profound implications of climate change on the Global South. The key takeaways from this experience were multi-faceted, encompassing the urgent need to enhance access to climate finance through comprehensive capacity building initiatives and effective project monitoring. Additionally, I became acutely aware of the imperative to foster circular economies within the Global South, promoting sustainable practices and resource management. Lastly, I learned that true leadership extends beyond authority, emphasizing the importance of collaborative and inclusive approaches to address the pressing challenges of climate change.

I’m delighted to share a significant milestone in our life-transforming journey. We recently shared the powerful Bridging Leadership Framework of AIM Team Energy Center for Bridging Leadership that we used at Second Chance Philippines with not just one but three esteemed organizations: BJMP Region 3, Bataan Peninsula State University, and Tarlac State University! During our benchmarking sessions, we engaged in dynamic and thought-provoking discussions, emphasizing our innovative strides in our program for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). By sharing our framework, we aim to inspire, ignite, and drive change across all sectors. Together with BJMP Region 3, Bataan Peninsula State University, and Tarlac State University, we’re forming collaborative alliances to foster continuous improvement and create a lasting impact in the lives of PDLs. Furthermore, we not only showcase the transformative impact of our initiatives but also inspire others to adopt similar approaches in their own contexts. These benchmarking efforts signify our commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation, constantly refining our approach, and uplifting the life of former offenders.
