2024 Class Member Highlight // Danyell Skillman Our next featured class member is Danyell Skillman, Director of Corporate Training at RAS. In her role, Danyell is responsible for creating strategies and tactics to support effective training and development of RAS employees. She knows a well-trained, adaptable, innovative workforce is critical for long-term success. She loves working with all 220+ employees in her company, getting to know them, and being a part of their career journey. One thing Danyell has learned about leadership is that attitude matters! She noted it can mean the difference between people feeling excited and motivated vs. unmotivated and grim. We each have the power to create the environment we want, and a positive attitude is key. Danyell was interested in the Leadership South Dakota program because two alumni told her it was life-changing. "What I quickly learned is they were right! This program and our group is special. I cannot wait to see the impact of this program on all of us as individuals, employees, parents, leaders, and citizens of South Dakota." Fun fact about Danyell: each year, she tries to master a new skill. In 2022, it was making gourmet cakes from scratch. In 2023, she learned to master a miter saw and is replacing ALL of the trim in their home. 👏 She noted some days, it's a love/hate relationship with angles, and wished she would have paid more attention in geometry class. 😅 We love a go-getter who isn't afraid of a challenge, and we can't wait to hear what new skill you'll master in the new year. Thank you for your example and commitment to the Class of 2024, Danyell! #LeadSD #LeadershipSD2024
