The moon colony built around Superwoman’s Fortress of Solitude is under siege! Shape-shifting aliens have come to this place of peace in search of Lynari, a refugee from their homeworld. It’s a bad move on the part of these intergalactic bad guys: if Kara Zor-El offers you sanctuary, there’s no way she’s going to let anyone get their monstrous hands on you. Let’s just hope this gamble is worth it, because Lynari’s secret-the one that got her in trouble in the first place-could mean bad news for everybody!
This is quite stunning. The art is a visual feast and puts me in mind of the pre New 52 Supergirl title by Gates and Igle. It’s a narrative of such joy and wonder. This is quite an inspiring story. It stands apart from the grim dark tropes the rest of Future State befell.
I feel like both the first and this issue should come with “cw: major character death”. Are you kidding me? First issue: Krypto is dead. Second and last issue: Kara is dead. Give the woman a break😭😭 I understand how poetic and beautiful it is that she would make the sacrifices and decisions she makes. And it’s nice to know she’s had a happy life and that, in the end, “solitude” was not the condition she was in. But for the love of Rao, who do I have to sell my soul to in DC in order for them to give Kara great adventures *AND* keep her alive!?? Why just always sideline her, I genuinely do not get it.
Those decisions aside, the story was conveyed beautifully (as much as it could’ve been done in only two issues) and the art was very pretty as well. Sigh.

The first issue was definitely superior, but the art here was still great. The story just took some strange turns. Not plotwise, but in style. It didn't feel like the same writer as issue #1. Probably a result of being rushed.
I knew what to expect with the artwork this time, so I liked it better here than I did in Issue #1. The story was still just OK, and it feels like kind of a pointless Elseworld miniseries, compared to some of the other "Future State" titles.
My absolute favorite so far in the Future State series. This was a touching and uplifting tale of redemption and life. The art was great. This what a short mini should be. Concise, easy to follow, and conclusive.
