In the heart of Bangkok's buzz stands a sanctuary of elegance and refinement promising an unforgettable experience to its visitors. Located atop the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, ABar Rooftop offers much more than a mere view of the metropolis; it invites a unique immersion into the city with its creative cocktails, while allowing guests to revel in an incredible view in complete privacy.

An Exceptional View of Bangkok

Located at the top of the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, ABar Rooftop is a sophisticated rooftop in the heart of Bangkok's vibrancy. Perched on the 38th floor, this elegant space allows visitors to escape the urban buzz with an almost complete view of the city. As far as the eye can see, the panorama embraces Bangkok's iconic sites: the lively Sukhumvit road, punctuated by the greenery of Benjasiri Park and flanked by the famous shopping centers Emporium and Emquartier on one side, while on the other, Benchakitti Park and the city's infinite horizon unfold majestically. Nestled in Asia-Pacific's largest and first Marriott Marquis hotel, which boasts 1,388 rooms and suites, ABar Rooftop is the ideal meeting point for those looking to contemplate Bangkok from an exceptional perspective.

Harmony and Design: An Intimate Evening at ABar Rooftop

ABar Rooftop is an oasis of elegance and intimacy with a capacity of only 60 people. Forget the crowded rooftops where it's impossible to settle in to quietly enjoy a drink while admiring the view, here the ambiance is more cozy and intimate. Guests are invited to get comfortable in the outdoor terrace lounge sofas, offering an ideal setting to relax and socialize. The ambiance electrifies further with live DJ sets every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday starting at 9pm.

The rooftop seamlessly blends modern design with touches of greenery, creating a space that is both stylish and welcoming. Despite its sophisticated look, ABar Rooftop stands out for its friendly and relaxed atmosphere, making it a perfect place for enjoyable evenings, accompanied by drinks and an unbeatable view. Whether for an aperitif or to spend the entire evening, this venue promises memorable experiences above the sparkling city lights.

Innovative Cocktails and Snacks Straight from Asia

ABar Rooftop offers a wide selection of drinks, including one of the city's largest selections of gins, with 100 different varieties, including many artisanal labels. These are used to create a vast range of signature G&Ts and Gin Classics served neat, such as the Dry Martini, the Clover Club, and the Aviation.

Guests can also enjoy fine wines from around the world, fresh beers, and premium spirits. But what makes this rooftop in Bangkok unique is its new collection of 12 signature cocktails inspired by the capital's most historic districts. Each creative cocktail tells a unique story through its mix of local ingredients, vibrant colors, and original presentation.

My husband fell for the Neoclassic Brutalism, which pays homage to the Bang Rak district. Inspired by the brutalism of the Grand Postal Building and the mythical Krut creatures guarding it, this classic cocktail mixes premium Scotch and rye whiskies, peanut butter, saffron, and bitters. It is served in a handmade stoneware cup and garnished with a dehydrated mushroom.

Personally, I was intrigued by the Green Oasis, symbolizing the Bang Kra Chao district, a lush natural reserve where locals come to escape their bustling urban life. Mixing tequila, orange liqueur, coconut, citrus, and osmanthus, this cocktail evokes a sensation of walking or cycling through this green paradise. Refreshing and indulgent at the same time.

For snacks, we tasted a delicious selection of small bites inspired by Asia, exclusively prepared by Akira Back, located on the 37th floor. We tried the tasty spicy tuna tacos (crispy wonton, spicy ponzu aioli), the angry salmon rolls (chojang, crab stick, cucumber), and the shrimp tempura rolls, which delighted us and perfectly complemented our cocktails.

My Review

Indeed, ABar Rooftop may not be the most well-known rooftop in Bangkok, but that's precisely why it should be chosen: the promise of enjoying excellent cocktails and creative snacks in an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere, while admiring a breathtaking view of Bangkok. Prepare to be charmed by the uniqueness of this rooftop, where every moment spent turns into a precious memory.
