Fat Vinny Teresa was a driver for Mafia chieftain Henry Tameleo and an accomplished swindler until his arrest in the late 1960s. Then he became a rat and wrote a best-selling 1973 book, “My Life in the Mafia,” even though he wasn’t a made guy. Fat Vinny went into the Witness Protection Program but was arrested again for smuggling rare birds into the U.S. He died a natural death and was described in his obituaries as a “feared Mafia boss.”
