A very proud moment this evening to have been recognised by our peers in the Casual Dining Awards for BEST USE OF TECHNOLOGY, with inamo restaurants & inamo sukoshi picking up an award. Piping some of the big players to the prize. I an extreamly proud to have shared the stage with one of my buisness partners and close friends Noel Hunwick. Unfortunately the third leg of the stool wasn’t with us. (He hates the recognition) I would like to thank the whole inamo restaurants & inamo sukoshi team for their hardwork, determination and dedication in making our interactive tables the point of difference for our brand. This was a big one! Now the champers 🍾🍾🍾🍾 As a brand leader for 17 years tonight’s award marks a moment in my personal journey and comes just a few days short of a milestone Birthday.

Noel Hunwick and I are Delighted to share that our “little inamo” concept has just opened its 4th unit inside of 2 years. Alexandre Battisti has done an AMAZING job of getting Boxpark Wembley inamo sukoshi open in just 6 days. What an absolute star. 🌟 So all that is left to say is “Hello Wembley………” 🎤

Inamo reports record December trading: London tech-restaurant group Inamo has reported record revenue for December across its five locations. Buoyed by investment into its new touch table technology in 2023, the group achieved an 8% uplift in year-on-year results. Chief executive Lee Skinner told Propel: “We’re delighted by the numbers and are extremely grateful to our team. We look forward to continued growth in 2024 with our food hall based Inamo sukoshi brand, and our restaurants offering added value for our guests. We’re beginning this in February with a giveaway of £20,000 worth of prizes in celebration of Chinese New Year. Every table booked from 5pm on Friday, 9 February, until the end of service on Sunday, 11 February, will be gifted a red envelope, or ‘hongbao’, each with an exclusive treat from Inamo, marking a unique twist on the age-old tradition.” Inamo is also offering interactive classes in which guests can learn the art of rolling sushi. It last year launched a third location for is Inamo sukoshi concept, in Market Place Vauxhall.

This time last week I was lucky enough to be invited by our restaurant wine supplier for an wine education trip to Hungary to visit Sauska Wines. I took our Head of Food and we laughed at the thought of Goulash at dumplings and some reasonable reds. Wow were we surprised and made to feel very foolish. Firstly the set up at Sauska’s 2 100 acre wine farms was incredible. Spectacular views, amazing wine centres with so much technology and restauarnts that had Michelin Recommended status. Not a Goulash and dumplings on even the staff menu. The wine, and yes we sampled a few bottles to be sure, was excellent, as good as any French Bordeaux if not better. The passion of the team, the hospitality and the care and attention was unbelievable. We were blown away. It made Mark Williams, and I remind ourselves why we got into this industry and question why even though we knew the wine was good, as we have 2 listed on our wine list at inamo restaurants & inamo sukoshi, why we fell in the sterotypical trap of thinking rest of the world wines catergories arent worth the try. For me, it was the best wine education trip I have been on. (And believe me I’ve done a few) But also reminded me to stop looking at the obvious signs in front of you and approach everything with an open mind and don’t let your predetermined thoughts and judgements allow you to miss a great opportunity.
