One of the three most unwelcome dining experiences during our 12 days in Rome. I carefully selected this place for lunch based on reviews, and had I realized the woman managing the restaurant would be so unpleasant, I would have gone somewhere else.
In addition to being unfriendly, service was very intermittent from both her and the server who ultimately took care of us. I almost felt like getting up once or twice to signal them to come over.
Lunch consisted of Mezza Luna Orata (hall moon pasta with sea bream inside), €16.50, and Osso Bucco (veal shank), €17. Pasta dish was dry, and poor ratio of fish to the ravioli. Osso buco was also on the dry side and not tender the way it's supposed to be. Flavor was good however.
Add in the usual pane charge of €2 pp, and 4 glasses of wine at average price of €6.50, grand total came to €64.
Not a place I'd recommend as we had much better experiences and food at several other places.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Feb 10, 20241 check-in
I am very happy with this place. We happened upon it because all the other restaurants we planned for were booked. However this place really surprised us with good food, prices, and service. We got the cacio el pepe and the appetizer triplet. I won't say much about the food because it wasn't so impressionable in a good or bad way. The food was definitely tasty, especially for how simple it looked. However I was very satisfied with the kindness, speed, and amicability of the waiters and servers. Dim lighting inside with chill vibes. Can bring a date here or your family.

Stopped here each time we were in Rome. Wait staff were friendly. We enjoyed the food each time. The meatballs were fantastic. I also recommend the tonnarelli cacio e Pepe. I had that on our first trip. We will be back.

The amatriciana ravioli special I had at Ditirambo changed my life. The tartufo we had for dessert did it again. Ditirambo is worth every penny. The interior is charming, quiet enough to have a conversation but you can still hear some hustle and bustle. The wine list is great, and I especially appreciated the way that they feature wines from Lazio. Great local food should be paired with great local wine!
The service was perfectly friendly. My only knock is that we asked for bread, which the waiter promptly brought out without plates. The plates didn't come until the appetizer came. This had me thinking to leave 4 stars, but the minute I tasted the ravioli all was forgiven. Do not miss out on Ditirambo.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - john l.MO, MO06Nov 1, 2022
We went on a Monday night, had a reservation. The service is inattentive at best but when they do finally come to your table they are very nice and knowledgeable. The menu was limited and all 3 of us had a hard time picking something. We were just looking for pasta. We started with fresh salads which were good and nicely presented. The salads are not dressed, they bring olive oil and balsamic vinegar to the table.
The menu had no red sauce item, the closest being a beef ragout, and none of the dishes that looked good on reviews. 2 of us ordered the special which was a simple spaghetti with shrimp, olive oil, parsley and garlic. The spaghetti was more than al dente, it was undercooked. The other had the carbonara. We ordered the grilled octopus which was good. I won't rush back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jul 29, 2019
One of the best meals we had in Rome! So good that we cancelled a reservation for another restaurant near the tail end of our trip just to eat here again.
Few highlights:
- Roasted octopus was our favorite dish here and the best prepared octopus my husband and I have had to date. Buttery, melt in your mouth texture, crispy on the outside and so tender on the inside, and the subtle sauce on the side brought the dish together. Amazing.
- Vegetarian lasagna was surprisingly good and portion-wise very generous.
- Pappardelle with wild boar reminded me of an elevated hamburger helper...and I mean that in the best way. Very rich and savory as well as comforting and hearty.
Highly recommend making a reservation before! It's gets busy and it will make your life much easier.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Baylie E.Crockett, CA7292117Sep 18, 2021
Food is good. Nothing to write home about but not disappointing. The service was horrendous!!!! The wait staff was impatient and rude and our waiter even made some crude remarks. They kept mentioning the price acting like we couldn't afford what we were asking for. And while the owner was nice to let us try multiple wines after we were very unhappy with an undrinkably sweet bottle that they hadn't let us try prior- he was very adamant that his taste profile was far superior and he was correct in giving me dry wines even when the last wine he gave us was closer to a moscato. Honestly just respect your customers for their taste preferences and requests, we showed up very happy and left frustrated... there are SO MANY better options: try Costanza around the corner instead

Rome is just oversaturated with tourists and as such EVERYONE has an opinion. Not all good.
The only way one should be excited to eat here is A) it's day one of vacation and you're just excited to be in Italy with your friends B) you haven't had current interpretations of Italian food in the last 12-15 years. The food reminds me of eating Italian in a New Jersey suburb in the mid 90s.
The service is extremely brusque, like when you go to Sweetgreen at 3PM, and you're the only one there, but they still rush to make your salad and mess it up.
I ordered a pasta dish with spinach and ricotta which was passable in a good plane food type of way. I also ordered the meatballs, which came with a sauce that was too sweet and tasted canned/bottled. The bread served with the meatballs was outstanding (hence 2 stars, rather than 1). The 25 euro half bottle of Gattinara got better as it opened up, but yet not enough to move the needle on this review.
If you're Yelp Elite and gave this place 5 stars, either you are lying or you eat TERRIBLE food and I feel bad for you. I'm in Rome for one night and am sad that this was my dinner.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mario M.San Diego, CA8115039Jul 30, 2019
Great little place in a touristy area. Service is very friendly and they all speak English. Most patrons are foreign here however the food is extremely good. The grilled calamari are outstanding indeed as per some other reviews. The carbonara is well done also. The Mista salad although very large is not up to Italian standards. Beef carpaccio was great. They had a seafood platter which was also a hit at our table. Overall a cute little place with good food. One thing I don't understand is that most Italian restaurants don't have any music at all, I think it would add to the ambiance but then everyone is on their phones anyways! lol
