I haven't been to an Aldis in years, but I wanted to try the chicken I heard was amazing. A friend of mine brought this Mexican Street Corn to our New years Day party, and it's like a drug it's insanely good, and so is the red bag chicken. The store is clean and easy to navigate. No issues that I saw. The employees are helpful and nice. If this review helps you at all please mark as helpful and follow me for more!

Great ALDI location! Looks like they remodeled a few years back and it shows. Contemporary design and a clean interior coupled with a wide selection at good--all at great prices--is a winning combination.
As tends to happen, we swung by with the intention to purchase one thing and wound up with a cart full of goods. Nonetheless, the total was under $20 for mochi ice cream ($4), a 24 pack of La Croix ($8), Pink Apple Kombucha ($3), and cherries. I was tempted to purchase the $.25 hand sanitizers at the register but resisted the impulse.
Service was efficient and friendly. Don't forget to bring a quarter if you plan on using a cart (this deposit is given back to you upon returning the cart).Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 57616576246May 30, 2018
This is a great alternative if you're trying to get groceries on a budget!
Parking isn't bad at all. Lots of spots.
Selection is limited but beggars cannot be choosers. Prices are unbeatable!
You have to pay for bags and the cart. I totally forgot about that and just held the four items I had.
The guy at the register was antsy to leave his post. He didn't even help with my groceries to give them to me. He wasn't even all that personable.
Anyway, I'll still come to Aldi. I can't buy every item on my list here because I'm too bougie and I like my kombucha, but I will humble myself to buy eggs, bread, or ice cream here.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ryan S.Columbus, OH2226221615Jan 12, 2020
I love Aldi.
I love its quarter popping cart, bumper car crowded aisles, no bells and whistles displays, inexpensive off-label foods, sit down cashier who are lightening quick, no annoying music, no thrills small grocery self.
I'm grateful to have found this corky, eccentric German owned store when I first came to town in 1994. Back then, the only store around was on Cleveland Avenue. My roommate drove a friend and I there and we wowed at the cheep prices of generic brands. But since then things have changed for the chain--for the better.
The chain has an interesting history. Founded in 1913 by the matriarch of the Albrecht family in Germany the chain really took off in 1948 when her two sons took command. The core idea of the business was developed then, in the post WWII area, when the German economy was in the dumps. They implemented the cost cutting measures that makes them the projected by 2024 third largest grocery store in the United States. That strategy was so successful that by the 1960s they changed their name by combining the first two letters of Albrecht and Diskont ( discount) to form the name Aldi. But soon after the brothers got into a fight and split the company into two: Aldi Nord and Aldi Sud. The Aldi here in the US is Aldi Sud. Aldi Nord is also in the United States under the name of Traders Joes.
Currently the chain is undergoing great growth investing $1.9 million in remodeling. The Upper Arlington store has already been remodeled and looking good in its plot just off Sawmill between Bethel and Henderson Rd. If you never had been it is a unique experience you need a quarter to get a cart. Yep that's right, 25cents. You get it back when you bring the cart back--its a ploy to insure you bring back the cart so they don't have to waste money hiring someone to do it. You'll also need to bring a bag, or buy one there, for they don't bag your stuff. The stores are small, average about 16,400sqft. Making your way through their four aisle can be chaotic. They play no music. They have no known brand. But it worth it.
The result of all this cost cutting is low prices in brands only sold at Aldi. Here are the deals I get here weekly:
24 pack of water $1.79-$2.29 ( water cost $1 a bottle at gad stations!)
Protein bars 10g $1.79
12-pack eggs $ .89-$.49!
Bagels-- $1.99
Produce very cheep. So are meets, milk, and dairy.
The off brands can often be better than the known brands.
The staff here is very fast, courtious, and cool. It can get really crowded. On Saturday morning a group of UA regular gather at door before opening. It is just a cool store.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Feb 25, 2020
ALDI is a great option to keep your grocery shopping economical! Just don't forget your quarter for your cart and your reusable shopping bags! I love that they don't use bags and encourage shoppers to bring their own. Not only does it keep costs down for us all, it's way better for the environment. (Kroger is moving to implement this too!)
Most of the food items are really good and comparable to name brands. There's a few items though we've found though that just don't cut it. One being their salad dressing. I also don't love that you have to buy produce in packages instead of being able to just buy one of something. But overall, it's still a great grocery option! I LOVE their tortilla chips- I think they are better than Tostitos! (And a hell of a lot cheaper too at 89 cents a bag!) I also always enjoy checking out their featured aisle which changes each week with different household specials. I've found several good buys here!
The store is always clean and the employees are friendly, too. We will definitely continue to make this our main grocery store!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Cary I.Sunbury, OH04Jul 25, 2021
Millville sweet and salty nut bar. Have bought them for a couple years
Always had cashews in them like they say on label. Went through whole box of them haven t found a single cashew. Give found this out about various different items they have that the products are very good for about one year then they switch the product to very poor quality. I would not buy these again. I found out same thing with there chicken salad was very good and a lot of meat. Now the chicken salad is all manaise. Would not buy that either anymore. I noticed last time I went there that prices are now higher than Walmart and the quality is not as good. In going to start going to Walmart for the name brand products for cheaper prices.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 22, 2017
Just discovered Aldi recently and this one has a great selection. It took awhile to figure out their layout, but it gets easier the more you go.
I supplement my regular grocery store trip with aldi with items like: sprout bread, chicken salad, their brand greek salad dressing, their version of lactaid milk, their brand multi brand cheerios, etc... Be on the lookout for specials like chia latte mix and gelato, they are delicous!!
** Make sure you bring a quarter so you can get a cart and your own bags - or you can use boxes they provide or buy bags. **Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Andrea S.Dublin, OH222119435Jan 30, 2020
Stopped in for a quick few things. I had been meaning to check out this location for months and finally got around to it since I needed some spinach for my smoothies.
The store is cleaner than a few other locations around the city so that it a plus for me. It was not busy at all. There was only 1 cashier working, but I suppose that was quite alright Igor, since I walked right up when I was ready to check out.
The produce section was well stocked and looked to be turned over regularly. Nothing looked to have over stayed it's welcome!
I love Aldi and will definitely be back at this location in the future. Don't forget to bring your quarter for the cart and your own bags or else you'll have to pay for theirs!

So I've been an Aldi fan since I moved to Dayton and was introduced to the store. My friend thought Meijer's was too much and so she used to come to Aldi all the time for her groceries.
Then when I met my husband he had a vision of working for Aldi and loved the stores. For him the chocolate section is the best part of the store since he's a huge dark chocolate fan and they carry it very cheap there.
I never knew Aldi owns Trader Joe's until my better half told me. Also about the food being quality food. His family actually shopped at Aldi for the longest time in Cincinnati to get their candies, cookies, produce and frozen foods. The reason they liked it is because it is European style.
If you don't already know both my husband and I are from Europe so we are always searching for stores that carry European food. We like the mom and pop places but places like Aldi meets our budget a little better. The mom and pop places raise the prices because they are running a business and can make up any price they want to sell their food for.
I've found a lot of good food at Aldi and just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's bad. I know people think that if something is cheap it must not be worth getting. My family is the same way trust me. They think the more expensive it is the higher quality it must be. While I have grown up and learned that the price stamp does not determine whether the food will be good or bad.
Aldi definitely meets my budget and great quality of food.I have never run into any issues with Aldi's food compared to some other places I've been. It's definitely worth coming in here if you have never been to an Aldi before.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
