So good. Best Poke place in AZ, hands down. As long as you can get past the whole cultural appropriation thing, it's life-changing food. From my experience, I have gained a newfound respect for Hawaiians. Before working here, I did not know what Hawaiians ate. I thought it was just Hawaiian BBQ with cold Mac N Cheese. I was enlightened, I realized it was much more, and would love to go visit Hawaii someday to learn about their culture more.
When arriving, the workers will probably warmly welcome you. The lighting is dim, and decorated nicely, providing a nice atmosphere. The music choices in each store are very interesting because it's very diverse. The point of having diverse music is to connect with each culture. I like all music, so I don't mind. The temperature in the store is perfect, and at nighttime, the windows are open so you can see all the beautiful lights shining throughout the night.
This place is underestimated and underrated. I feel like many people just don't know what to get, even if you don't like fish, this place will change you forever. Here's what I recommend if you're on a diet:
Base - Half & Half base of white rice, because you're getting fiber and the delectable taste of the white rice (I'm half Asian, white rice is a must)
Sauce - Pure sesame oil, & a light spicy creamy combination (Sesame oil has plenty of health benefits, and the spicy creamy helps build a stronger flavor profile)
Protein - Shrimp, and salmon (IMO the best flavor profile, but the octopus is the best protein-to-calorie ratio-wise, for gym people. Not to mention, there's also a vegan option such as Tofu).
Toppings -
Ginger
Edamame
Sprouts
Green onion
Red onion
Cucumber
Sesame Seeds, or Furikake (A sesame seed & dried seaweed blend)
It is important to keep in mind, that each topping is healthy in their way, but these are just the basics, pickled radish can also be good to replenish your electrolytes. Though, I don't enjoy the flavor personally.
Note: you can choose as many toppings as you like, but if you get more than one scoop, it's extra for Crab, Masago, Seaweed Salad.
Anyway, there are plenty more selections for your choosing, it doesn't even have to be healthy or cold menu options. This specific store location also offers Teriyaki Chicken, Spam Musubi's, Unagi (Eel), and Grilled Salmon.
After working here, I know for a fact the workers will help accompany you if you need guidance. Trust me when I say that the owners did an excellent job at hiring competent, hard-working managers and workers. Not to mention, they held each store to a high cleanliness standard by the owner, so you can expect nothing but quality. Honestly, I can say more positive things, but I am going to be applying to other jobs soon, so it probably won't be the best decision for me.
I would say, the only downside is that the pay here is not great and heavily relies on your tip, and it's not the busiest place. So please, when deciding to go inside or order carry out, pick inside. We would love you a little more. It's not a big corporation and the owners are local, kind people. Help the owner out, and the workers out. So they can live life to the fullest.
For the owner, what I noticed is that though the shifts are short, compared to other workplace environments, it's kind of hard to not get hungry. By offering longer shifts with a break in between, accompanied by an automatic free bowl. I believe can help increase profit margins. Because I can't lie, sometimes I ate for free when I was working, sorry! The food is just too good. Also, investing in more rice holders would be very beneficial, because many other locations besides QC waste so much rice, that it can probably feed all the people in homeless shelters. Just a suggestion, I am sure you already know this.
All I have to say now is go to Ahipoki!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 98382745Feb 19, 20241 check-in
We have been huge fans of Ahipoki bowl since they opened. It's nice that they add delicious new options to the menu to keep you coming back for more of their yummieness! The portions are very fair and nutritious. My personal fav is the 2 scoop with half brown rice and half field greens. Today I got blazing salmon and tuna luau which were exquisite with a multitude of toppings including two toppings I hadn't seen on their menu before; pickled radish and sprouts. Very nutritious and filling!

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch. It was our first visit and the young man working behind the counter greeted us promptly and helped us through our ordering. Both of our meals were fresh and delicious. We had half rice and half greens with shrimp and scallops. You can add so many toppings and they are generous with their portions. The sauces we chose were very flavorful. Just the right amount of spice.
The restaurant was also spic and span clean. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we are in the area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lily C.Tempe, AZ02115Apr 21, 2024
At Ahipoki, my favorite meal is creating poke bowls that showcase the freshest ingredients and bold flavors of the different seafood ingredients, such as fish, shrimp, lobsters, and octopuses. Sometimes, I have a mixture of two or more ingredients for an amazing meal! The staff are wonderful and friendly. The meal is cooked carefully so you're not eating raw seafood, unless it's the customer's choice. The environment is clean and inviting. If you're looking for a family oriented restaurant that serves fresh seafood and vegetables, Ahipoki is your place!!! Go experience a meal of a life time and share your experiences!

I was a little unsure of what to order at first, but the gentleman helping us was patient and really helped guide us through the steps. I was pleased with my choices and realized that it was basically a sushi roll in a bowl, and a delicious one at that. Wil
