Hey all, my name is Emmy and I’m a senior in Eliot House studying History. I’m primarily interested in 19th-century American history, particularly in the context of the American Civil War and the progression of its ideological legacy. History’s ability to place the past and present in close conversation with one another has always spoken to me, and the History Department’s phenomenal faculty and programming made it all the better. Outside of academics, I serve as the Managing Editor of the Harvard Political Review and chair the Harvard CIVICS Program. In my free time, I enjoy taking walks and watching television with my twin sister Izzy (who is unfortunately not a History concentrator). If you have any questions about choosing a concentration or HIST 97, the sophomore history tutorial, feel free to reach out! I’m also more than happy to chat about anything else related to History or your broader Harvard experience. Thanks for stopping by, and hope that you have a lovely rest of your day.
