SUMMARY
Similar chemically to Alectoria sarmentosa subsp. sarmentosa, but the thallus is prostrate and ground-dwelling; with branches to 8 mm (occasionally to 15 mm) wide, often markedly flattened, expanded, striately ridged and pitted; the base dying, supported by hapters attached to surrounding vegetation.
