Arab artist Mohamed Abdo to perform at Rose City Nights at Petra

Ammon News - The Saudi Great Mohamed Abdo, affectionately known as “The Artist of the Arabs” performs on Friday May 26th, 2023 at the Petra Cultural Village as part of the series of events called “Rose City Nights”.

With a career spanning 60 years, the Saudi singer and oudist Mohamed Abdo is credited with preserving classical songs representing centuries-old Arab heritage. He has made his mark across the Middle East and the Arab world.

The concert promises to be a night filled with the musical notes and flavors from the Arabian Gulf in the midst of the magical ambience of the Rose City. The orchestra will be conducted by Maestro Hany Farhat adding to the experience. Mohamed Abdo will present a selection of his most famous and beloved songs.

Friends of Jordan Festivals in collaboration with the Petra Authority and Tourism Development are proud to present “Rose City Nights” - a series of cultural and musical performances throughout the entire year at Petra Cultural Village.

Organized by Friends of Jordan Festivals, who have conceptualized a year-long calendar for 2023,, bringing to Jordan several world class acts, accompanied by prestigious Jordanian and classical musicians, providing an unforgettable experience to an enthralled audience from across the country and region.

The intention is to celebrate the sights and sounds of Jordan, packaged as a complete immersive entertainment experience, while branding Jordan as a world class tourist, cultural and economic destination. Through the planning, design and execution of such projects this has also supported local communities and revived economies by creating job opportunities in event locations and their surrounding areas.

Through organizing many world-class events over the years, Friends of Jordan Festivals has achieved attendance of over 150,000 guests among Jordanians and foreign visitors. In addition, these events have been made accessible to more than 25,000 underprivileged children from all parts of the Kingdom, through inclusive and corporate social responsibility programs.
