Hult Prize at Kathmandu University recently concluded its Semi-Finale at KUSOM, Balkumari. The event witnessed the presentation of innovative business proposals under the theme "Unlimited" by 13 competing teams, with five teams advancing to the highly anticipated grand finale.

The Semi-Finale, a testament to the spirit of innovation and collaboration, featured a diverse panel of judges who meticulously evaluated each presentation. Among them were industry luminaries such as Anchita Bhimsaria, Head of Learning and Development - IIDE Nepal; Gunjan Ghimire, Founder and Engineer Researcher at Chyau Bio Technologies; Ruby Shah, Co-founder of Parth Student Ventures; and Samir Phuyal, Founder of Karobar App. Their expertise and insights provided invaluable guidance to the aspiring entrepreneurs.

Guiding the event with enthusiasm and charm were EMCEEs Kriti Rai and Charchica Pokharel, who ensured the proceedings remained engaging and lively. The event kicked off with a gracious welcome extended by Prarabda Singh Mahat, the Deputy Campus Director, followed by an inspiring keynote address delivered by Mr. Bikram Basnet, representing Agni Group | Mahindra.

Participants had the option to present their pitches through either video or live formats, followed by a rigorous Q&A session where judges posed insightful inquiries related to the presentations. Audience engagement was heightened with interactive quizzes offering exciting prizes, adding to the event's vibrant atmosphere.

The success of the Semi-Finale was made possible through the generous support of multiple sponsors and partners, who not only facilitated pre-event training but also contributed to the overall success of the competition. With collaborations spanning 18 sponsors across various sectors, the Hult Prize event has emerged as a beacon of innovation and collaboration in the entrepreneurial landscape.

As the curtains drew to a close, the finalists for the Grand Finale of HPKU - 24 were announced: “Dr. Fish,” “Ladies with a Lamp,” “Hempire,” “The Upcyclers,” and “Kodo Ko Khaja.” Expressing gratitude to all participants, judges, sponsors, and attendees, Campus Director Sasha Sunuwar hailed the Semi-Finale as a resounding success.

The anticipation now builds for the Grand Finale scheduled to take place on February 27, 2024, at Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel. As the stage is set for the culmination of creativity and innovation, participants and spectators alike eagerly await the crowning of the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders.
