Microsoft has unveiled a new Xbox 360 bundle scheduled to hit stores this May that will include an Xbox 360 Elite, as well as copies of Halo 3 and Fable II.

The bundle, appropriately dubbed "The Xbox 360 Game of the Year Bundle," will retail for $400. Those keeping score at home will notice that that's the same price currently affixed to the Xbox 360 Elite console by itself, so you're essentially paying for the best version of Microsoft's console and receiving two of its finest games free of charge.

Given the comparatively limited appeal of previous Xbox 360 bundles, which included either Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance or Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda, this looks like an excellent reason for those gamers still lacking an Xbox 360 to finally pick one up.

Xbox 360 spokesman Major Nelson offers no official launch date for the bundle, though urges gamers to check their local retailers for availability.
