Apple's not the only one launching redesigned portable devices this month. Sony announced today that its new, smaller PSP system is available now in retail stores. The one catch is that it's currently only available in a $200 limited-edition bundle, which packs in a 1 GB Memory Stick, the game Daxter and a UMD with episodes of Family Guy.

The console itself is silver-colored. Later this month, a $170 package will be available that includes just the PSP itself, in black. And on October 9, Sony will launch a Star Wars bundle, featuring Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadrom and a white PSP with a Darth Vader image silkscreened onto the back of the unit, also for $200.

Sony will also launch A/V cables, which allow the new PSP to output video to a TV screen, in both component and composite varieties for $20 each later this month.
