Apologies to sensitive readers. Here's a bodyhack that we do not recommend. This foot-binding photo is the "most popular" photo on Yahoo News right now.

Zhou Guizhen, who is 86-years-old, shows one of her bound feet wherethe bones in the four small toes were broken and forced underneath thefoot over a period of time, at her home in Liuyi village in China'ssouthern Yunnan Province, February 2007. Villages in China where womenwith bound feet survive are increasingly rare but the millennium-oldpractice nevertheless took almost four decades to eradicate after itwas initially banned in 1911.

What's possibly more disturbing is the woman's other foot, clad in the tiniest shoe I've ever seen on an 86-year-old. Scroll through the slideshow for more images and a diagram of how feet-binding was performed.
