2021 Vintage

Open, rich fruits are dominant in this lightly wood-aged wine. Almost mature, the tannins have softened, with black fruits and spicy acidity balancing the ripe fruitiness. Drink from 2024. Organic.
2020 Vintage
Tasted: Aug 2022
2019 Vintage
Tasted: May 2021
Still very young, this wine is ripe and richly textured, with some fine potential for aging. The black fruits shine through the mineral texture and tannic structure to give a wine that is already hinting at the fruitiness of the future. Drink from 2022. Organic. Roger Voss

Tasted: Apr 2020
A smoothly rich wine, produced from organically grown grapes, this is full, rich and bursting with black fruits. Its tannins are still young, giving the wine a dry core that will soften. Age for the medium term and drink from 2021. Roger Voss
2017 Vintage
Tasted: Oct 2019
Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung. Preis-Leistung Top!
2016 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2019
(2019) The Symington family produce this meaty and fruity red from organically-grown Tinta Barocca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, from the largest organic-certified farm in the Douro. There's a delightfully lifted floral and herbal, tobbaco and spice aroma, all floating over black fruit. On the palate it is firm, with a dry and tannic framework that does really call out for food, but the savoury, dark and robust black fruit is there. Some retailers, including Waitrose, have moved on to the 2017 vintage which I have not tasted, but it is usually a reliable wine that I have tasted over many vintages. When to drink: 2019 to 2027
2016 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2018
Produced from organically grown grapes in the upper Douro Superior region, this wine is bursting with ripe fruit and soft tannins. Blackberries and black currants give a ripe, full-throated fruitiness. Drink this wine from 2019.
2015 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2017
Produced from organically grown grapes, this wine has firm tannins as well as ripe fruits. A tough edge needs to soften as the wine matures. Drink from 2019
2014 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2016
(2016) The Symington family have been farmers and winemakers in Portugal's Douro Valley for generations, and table wines play an increasing part in the business. This organic blend of Touriga Nacional with a handful of other varieties if wonderfully aromatic, a real potpourri of spices and flowers, vivid cherry fruit and exotic Sandalwood. In the mouth it has plenty of fruit too, red highlights and deeper black fruit notes, a nicely roughening hint of tannin and fine balance in its medium-bodied format.
2013 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2015
Produced from organic grapes grown in the remote vineyards of the Douro Superior, this is a structured, stylish wine that shows ripe fruits alongside touches of wood aging and a fresh red-berry aftertaste. It is a young wine, ready to age further. Drink from 2017.
2011 Vintage
Tasted: Mar 2014

2011 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2014
This single-vineyard wine has stalky, juicy fruit that gives as much structure as fruitiness. It is dry and very textured, revealing blackberry and red currant flavors; the finish brings out intense acidity. It could age for another year to show at its best.
2010 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2012
This wine comes from the Vilariça vineyards in the far east of the Douro. It is pure, rounded and rich, with tannins that are well melded with its blackberry fruits. Wood is present with restraint, producing a wine that has ripeness, style and the ability to age.
2009 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2011
From vineyards in Douro Superior, the eastern section of the Douro region, this is a concentrated pure red berry fruit-flavored wine. It wears its richness lightly and easily, emphasizing the acidity as much as the ripe fruit.
2007 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2009
Dominated by spicy wood, this first vintage from the Symington family's organic vineyards is big, rich, very toasty, with layers of new wood over the sweet blackberry fruit. If it doesn't hang together now, it is likely to integrate over the next few months, as the exuberant wood and alcoholic heat calm down.
