A facsimile reprint of this 1875 account of an investigation into alleged spiritual phenomena, with particular focus on events which allegedly took place at the Eddy Brother's farm in Vermont in 1874. The work reveals in fascinating detail the coupling of the classic methods of detection, along with the tools of the psychic, that were combined in the investigations. The author, Colonel Henry Steele Olcott (1832 - 1907) was a journalist, lawyer and former military officer, who co-founded the Theosophical Society and served as its first President, a position which he held until his death.
