Spain continues to offer terrific value in red wines. Here are two ideal for casual family meals: A garnacha (grenache to francophiles) and a graciano, a lesser-known grape that we may see on more labels in years to come.

Our third wine this week is an exceptional white from the Loire Valley in France, a sauvignon blanc that hunkered down in a tough vintage and summoned the spirit of an ancient seabed to deliver a message seemingly from time immemorial. Postage paid, only $26.
