How do you measure for the awning.  I seems the Width is measured against the outside wall of your house.   Is this correct

It was ok to install. What hung me up was attaching the awning to the roll. They're is a long plastic piece that pushes through both the end of the awning and the metal roll. I would get it close then it would catch on something and stop going. 
The rest of install was easier. I used lag bolt to go into the side of my little shed. I made sure to pre drill then used my drill to secure them. I'm overall pleased with the appearance. That awning attachment though had me at the end of my patience but it turned out nice.

Just the right size for our back yard shed and match the green shutters almost perfectly. Priced very reasonable for a 12' long awning. Some assembly required about 2 hours to assemble and only about 1/2 hour to install mounting bracket and bolt up awning. I have a photo and video to post if you like?

We ordered "red" 12' by 8' awning, and we were pleased that it is "wine red". Instructions not too clear, but 2 of us managed to install in about half a day. Now that it is up, we're very happy with the product. It seems sturdy and opens and closes easily. Really do love it!

Arrived early, some of the bars were bent. And had missing parts. Glad I have a handy husband he was able to find the right parts and assembled it.

Pooooooor instructions. Flimlsy material used thru out! Save your money, use something else for shade as this one will not last a summer.

The awning itself is as described and suits the purpose for the price.  It has been left open during the continuous rain in the Northeast and has proven sturdy and waterproof.  The color was true, but has started to fade after 4 weeks in the small amount of direct sunshine.  However, the directions for assembling are HORRENDOUS!  Whoever wrote them has obviously never put together an awning.  The print and illustrations are too small and important steps are missing.  Although I am experienced  with projects like this, it took  2 of us  3 days to figure it all out with a lot of guesswork.    Customer service was also horrible; I was told to watch a Youtube video.  Probably  won't  buy from this company again.

A lot of work

Horrible.....I've spent about 10 hours so far trying to get this thing put together and hung. Has been a nightmare. The instruction book is ridiculous! Looks like I'm going to end up taking it apart and sending it back after all this! Do not purchase this item! You will be sorry!
