[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this a month ago and so far so good. Quiet compared to the one I had before. Keeps the house cool, 3 fan settings and have used with the LG Thinq thashomesmart app to turn it on while coming home from vacation.

Great features

I bought one of these units last summer and liked it enough to purchase another one. The pros of this unit are; light weight unit, motor gradually works it way up to full speed and gradually works it's way back down. Best of all NO SHAKING WINDOWS!! I researched all window units last year and did the same with this years new units. This is the best as far as I'm concerned and NO ONE could beat Wal Mart pricing!

Very modern, beautiful minimalist design, smart, connects to my WiFi network and works with Alexa, and super quiet with Dual Inverter technology. Easy to operate with the LG ThinQ app or Alexa voice commands. I like the Dry cooling feature for rainy days to dehumidify the room. I bought two units for my two bedroom apartment in Brooklyn and they cool the entire apt down very quickly. Would definitely recommend. Also, LG has great customer service!

This is without a doubt the quietest, most efficient air conditioner that I have ever experienced. It cools quickly, able to exceed it's rated output when needed and able to reduce noise and increase efficiency when the room has been cooled. It is so quiet that it is almost totally unobtrusive. From now on it's inverter type A/C for me. More efficient, quieter and WAY less expensive than mini splits, Inverter Air Conditioners are the latest innovation in high efficiency and long life.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been in HVAC for 20+ yrs. and never thought I'd buy a “window shaker” as I've always promoted ductless mini split systems with inverter technology. When I saw the LG LW1022 with dual inverter as an option to cool my South Texas home workshop at a fraction of the cost of the ductless mini split systems, I figured I'd give it a shot. LG has a game changer with this unit. With the variable speed fan, paired with the dual inverter compressors, it is as quiet and efficient as most of the mini split systems I've promoted for years, and I promise there's no window shaking!

Game changer

Solid. Featured packed. 
*Have owned for 4 mos. after thoroughly reviewing 7-8 different units, brands, etc.
*Control AND view your room's temperature (accurate temp near unit of course) from anywhere via free WiFi LG app.
*Nice handheld remote as well.
*The VERTICAL movement of the two vents is limited. The horizontal is  fine.
*3 speeds are accurate= low, medium, high.
*Nice looking.
*Specify a "size" larger than you (%26 all brands) think you need. All AC window MFGs cooling ratings are best case scenarios. Most AC MFGs have room size charts.
*Understand many reviews of consumer items are relative to the operator / installer skill.
*I hardly give anything a Five Star rating unless I've owned over 1  yrs.

LG 10K  Window AC Unit

I installed this 8,000 BTU unit in a second story dormer window to cool an approximately 350 sq ft notoriously hot bedroom. It replaced another 8,000 btu unit of another brand which I moved to another upstairs room. I purchased it probably because it was advertised as being quiet and being a dual inverter compressor. It's definitely the quietest window air conditioner  I've seen. The dual inverter should save on the electric bill as the unit will run  non stop from June into September. 
I was surprised how large the unit is. When I opened the box I really thought I would find support brackets that would need to be mounted on the outside of the window to support it. There were 2 small brackets that are installed on the outer sill. I think they're supposed to keep the unit from sliding out the window while installing. They don't seem to me to be providing any function. The installation instructions as a whole are very poor. Took us a while to get it in the window correctly. The unit was to large for me to handle on the inside so I did end up using a ladder so I could support the unit from outside the house as my wife shimmied it out the window.
It seems to be well build and a quality unit. You can slightly hear the compressor doing whatever it is a dual inverter compressor does. It's not really hot yet here in NC but I feel confident the unit will keep us comfortable in 100 degree heat and humidity.
