Good portable unit, it will easily cool a 400sq. ft. room. We bought the 14000 BTU model. If you have a larger space you need to cool like us with just this - 1000 - 1300sq. ft. or so,  I'd recommend you additionally use a couple of box fans at night only, one in, one out, at opposite ends of the living space to draw in the cool air from outside overnight. Yes, that's right, fans at night. That's what we did here in the Pacific Northwest. When the outside air starts to get warmer mid-morning than it is in the house, we close all the windows and blinds at once up tight, then set up the portable air conditioner set to 65 degrees. It works well to keep our whole middle floor 1300sq, ft, around 70 even though outside by 5:00p.m.  it's 90 plus out. Before bed, we go back to open windows running the two box fans again just at night. It worked great this way. This portable unit will not cool a large space that's already  gotten too hot down to below 75, but using the above method, we were well pleased with this purchase knowing the trick.  Remember to empty out  the water drains once every day, unit will stop cooling if full. One summer season in use for us and about time for storage. Hope it gives us a few more good years of service. No regrets as so far no problems.  Hope that gives you an idea of how it works. For us it worked as expected and we were glad to have it.

I bought two of these and one is working good but the other one is not and not sure why.

doesnt cool the room so well peak summer. but ok for average heat.

Despite it's good reviews I was disappointed in this machine.  I really don't feel like it cooled very well compared to the unit I was replacing which was less BTU's and cooled my room quicker and to a lower temperature. It also leaked water onto my rug while running, which I did not notice until day 2 when I went to empty the water after the reservoir had filled, and stepped in a wet spot. It has to be drained regularly, and they recommend placing a tray underneath to empty the water into, but give you less than a inch of room to slide a tray under the unit. First I could not find anything that shallow, and If I did how was I supposed to carry a shallow pan of water without spilling it.  The paperwork said you needed to register the product to use the warranty, but when I tried (several times) the website did not exist, and I could not find any link on their home page to take me to a warranty registration page. I plan on returning the unit at my earliest convenience, as I  can not use it leaking and filled with water.
