Wonderful product, works well. As with other reviews, installation instructions are worthless, thus the four stars.

Great Product

I'm not sure why everyone complains about the assembly of this awning.  The instructions were brief but fine.  You could just look at the pieces and visualize how it would go together.  You do have to be careful and NOT unstrap the arms before the assembly is mounted to the wall.  There should be a larger cautionary note for that as it got overlooked...once!  Loved the motorized action - so convenient and half or more less than competing brands.

Do NOT use the expansion bolts provided for mounting into concrete - they are undersized and will not lock in place.

Don't count on getting the $10 Paypal coupon Aleko offers if you send in pictures of the installed product - sent them twice and have never received anything.

I hired someone to install it for me and he said that he had to review an online video of a competing product to be able to install it. Adjusting it to be firm and deploy and retract well to quite some time.
It makes clunking sounds when deploying and retracting.

It looks great. It blends in with the house really well.
It makes the deck useful through the hot part of the day. It provides great shade.
It is really quite sturdy.  It holds up well in brisk wind. I retract it when it picks up.

The best value for a patio awning that I found

The equipment is 5 star for sure, the instructions  and video on their website didn't match up to some hardware we got which made it super frustrating.  I have it up currently but need to take it down again to get the center roller properly put on as well as 1 of the arm stops.  Plan on it taking several hours to assemble and put up and have minimum 2 strong adults to put up.

Product quality was good, instructions are hard to follow and lack important details. I had to watch several videos to figure it out. And still was very frustrated with the install.

I received this item damaged. I had to pay someone to put it together and they didn't realize the extent of damages until the end  ughhhh. I feel like someone returned this and they repackaged it and sent out

instructions are horrible.  things do not line up. remote works part of the time. it broke in a week. since i had to wait for help to install. it was past the return date. and honestly, how to return something that big.

wouldn't buy again

I feel like this company needs to do better warning customers about this product being on a spring action and when you open it the metal will fly backwards. Needs big bold letters on box and actual product. My 4 year old daughter got hit in the head and arm and was taken to the E.R. she ended up being ok with a big knot on her head. The awning hasn't been put up yet but just off that I'm giving it a one star. I'd give it zero if I could

Beware!

You can't follow directions, they are incorrect. The arms came upside down from the factory.  You have to unassemble and put it back together without breaking anything. Customer service has to call you back, no help from them.

About the worst thing I have ever purchased.  Cheaply made would never last thru the year.  Received with parts missing,  no clear installations instructions.  Called Aleko for help on installing was told to go to YouTube which was just as bad or worse.  Had many problems that Aleko themselves didn't know how to solve.  Drilled my house to install couldn't complete  parts missing took me calling Aleko about dozen times to receive parts which were still incorrect...finally got parts but realized this awning was to light weight and cheaply made to complete installation.....paid to have it removed returned to Walmart.   No more online sight unseen purchases like this for me.  Purchased one from Sunsetter which was about 10 times heavier, better warranty,  and great installers who knew what to do.   DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IT IS NO GOOD.
