Larah Faith G. Abogadil – Customer Service Representative

lara-abogadil-profileHi I’m Larah Faith Abogadil, and most people call me Larah to make it short, but whatever you use to call me, that’s fine.

I am 25 years old and I’m the eldest within my family. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters but two of them are my half siblings. We were a happy family because my father worked as part of the crew at private resort and he gave us all the things that we needed and wanted.

But the saddest day came… March 12, 2002… my father felt asleep and his jaw became locked and he was unable to breathe. In short, he was diagnosed with Cardiac Arrest and when we raced him to the hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.

My mother couldn’t believe what happened – and to make it harder she was 5 months pregnant with my younger sister at the time. Even though I was 8 years old, the memories are still fresh and I always cry when I’m sharing them. I would sometimes ask God why it happened to us, and from that day everything changed.

After I stopped studying at College for more than 4 years, I realised that I couldn’t achieve my goals if I just read wattpad stories all day. So lara-abogadil-bondingI tried my luck in Transcom Worldwide (the first Company I worked for) and fortunately after my first interview, I was hired. I was really afraid at the start, because I was not familiar with the work in a call center, but with the help of my friends and trainer, I stayed and worked in Transcom for more than 3 years.

My mum was very proud of me because I was able to support our family’s needs and help my siblings with their studies. Being a CSR not only provided me with a higher salary compared to regular employees, it also allowed me to socialise with people around the world and understand that there are many different cultures. I also needed to be physically at the top of my game as I worked the graveyard shift (2am-11am).

There was a time that I felt depressed when I fell pregnant because I was not financially and emotionally stable. Fortunately, my partner in life is very persistent in convincing me that everything happens for a reason.

Now, I have a 2 year old daughter and she really motivates me to work hard for her future (as well as my husband ;-)).

I know that no one is perfect and life can’t be perfect – but with the help of God, nothing is impossible.

I have this life verse from Jeremiah 29:11 that I keep close to mind: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” And I want to achieve my goals with your Company, and I am looking forward to being a part of your team.
