Achata beach is located 13 kilometers north of Pigadia (the capital), on the east coast of the island of Karpathos. Green mountains embrace a paradise composed of emerald and turquoise sea, with sand mixed with gravel. A splendid, almost surreal scenery!
On the beach of Achata you can rent umbrellas and deck chairs to stay at your best with only € 6 per day.For when you get hungry, you can take advantage of the small tavern which also acts as a bar, where you can enjoy excellent fresh fish or munch on a quick snack.Once you arrive in this beautiful bay you will be looking forward to diving into the super-crystalline sea in front of you. Be careful though if you have children, the water immediately becomes deep and may not be very suitable for the little ones.Arm yourself with a mask and fins and admire the beautiful seabed rich in marine flora and fauna. Exploring these waters will be one of the most beautiful experiences of your holiday in Karpathos.This multi-colored bay offers perfect relaxation. The sea breeze that we all look for on hot and muggy days is always present on the beach in Achata and allows all swimmers a perfect rest!
Achata beach is easily reached by car in about half an hour from Pigadia. Follow the road leading to Aperi. The beach is 4 kilometers from the main road, in fact once you reach Aperi you will only have to turn right, towards the sea. Here you will walk a path surrounded by beautiful wild oleanders and pine trees that will give you a feeling of profound well-being. When you arrive at your destination you can leave your car in the large parking available (behind the beach)
Our advice is to set the alarm clock early in the morning and arrive at Achata beach at least by 9 am. This small paradise is not very large and in high season, given its fame, it could be stormed. If you want to enjoy every corner of this little jewel of nature, arriving early is essential!
