The photographer Alberto García-Alix presents his work ‘El paraíso de los creyentes’ in Universitat de València

The photographer Alberto García-Alix is holding today a discussion on his work ‘El paraíso de los creyentes’ in Universitat de València. It is his most recent audiovisual creation. It is made up of 68 photographs with texts which form a portrait of the artist and are a reflection on the limits of representation. The photographer is going to hold a debate with the people attending the event, which is having place at 12:00 in the Facultat de Filologia, Traducció i Comunicació’s Saló de Graus.

Alberto García-Alix is one of the most important photographers in Spain at the moment. He became famous due to his portraits of celebrities in the 80s, during the Spanish transition. Later, his works have been exhibited at the most important galleries in the world, and today he is one of the key names in contemporary photography. He has conducted several exhibitions, among them the one at Círculo de Bellas Artes (PhotoEspaña, 1998), and at Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (2008). He was awarded the Premio Nacional de Fotografía in 1999.

Today, the debate is going to be the closing lesson for the master’s degree titled Màster en Interculturalitat i Polítiques Comunicatives en la Societat de la Informació. The Departament de Teoria dels Llenguatges i Ciències de la Comunicació and the Facultat de Filologia, Traducció i Comunicació at Universitat de València organize the event. Entrance is free.
