Paul Strand: Photography and Film for the 20th Century is the first exhibition of the artist’s work in the UK since his death in 1976.
Strand was one of the greatest photographers of the 20thcentury. His images have defined the way fine art and documentary photography is understood and practiced today.
The exhibition showcases 200 objects spanning Strand’s entire career. They include his breakthrough trials in abstraction and candid street portraits, close-ups of natural and machine forms, and extended explorations from the American Southwest to France, Italy, Scotland, Ghana and beyond. There are also a number of vintage prints from the V&A’s own collection on display.
The international tour of the exhibition is organized by the Philadelphia Museum of Art in collaboration with Fundación MAPFRE and made possible by the Terra Foundation for American Art.
We’re giving away 5 pairs of exhibition tickets. Our draw closes on 15 March.
