Why was Mostafa Ezzo fired from Air Canada?

Air Canada confirmed on X, formerly known as Twitter, on October 11, 2023, that Ezzo had been fired.

"We can confirm the pilot in question no longer works for Air Canada, following the process initiated on Monday," the company wrote.

The decision to fire Ezzo was made after a picture of him allegedly wearing pro-Palestinian colors in uniform circulated on the internet.

Additionally, the group StopAntiSemitism.org posted Instagram screenshots of a man identified as Ezzo, which showed him at a pro-Palestine protest that referenced Adolf Hitler, according to CTV News.

The picture was reportedly taken at a demonstration in Dorchester Square, one day after Hamas attacked Israel.

The surprise attack claimed the lives of more than 700 people, and as a result, Israel declared war on Hamas.

At this time, Ezzo has not commented on the posts or Air Canada's decision to fire him.
