Richard has been collecting video games for years and shares his finds on his YouTube channel, Richard's Isle.

In a recent video, he went through some of the most valuable games in his collection.

LOOSE GAMES

The first games Richard showed were loose games that weren't in cases.

He explained that one of the first games he bought when he started collecting video games was the Pokemon Emerald Version for Game Boy Advance. It was part of a special buy-two-get-one-free sale for retro games.

As part of the deal, he also bought Super Mario and Final Fantasy Six, also for the Game Boy.

Currently, Pokemon Emerald sells for over $200, and Final Fantasy sells for between $90 and $100.

Richard also has Pokemon Crystal that was repaired by a friend after he got it for around $50 with a broken battery and permanent marker on it.

However, now it sells for upwards of $100, he said.

The final loose game was Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars for the Super Nintendo system. As a loose game, it sells for around $90.

"A lot of these I was able to get for pretty cheap compared to what they're selling for now," Richard said.

All the rest of Richard's games were in the original packaging.

A FAN FAVORITE

One of his most valuable games is a copy of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in an acrylic case and the original packaging.

It comes with a Super Nintendo game cartridge, a pamphlet of "top secrets" from one of the main characters to offer a bit of help in the game, and a poster.

Richard said this was only the third time he opened the box because he wanted to preserve it. Now, he keeps the game out and puts the empty box in the case.

He also has The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on both Game Cube and WiiU.

For the Game Cube, games sell for around $115, and for the WiiU it costs $99.

POKEMON GAMES

Richard showed that he has the Pokemon Fire Red Version and Leaf Green Version, both for the Game Boy Advanced.

On Mercari, Fire Red Version sells for $400 with the box, and Leaf Green sells for upwards of $300 on eBay.

For the Nintendo DS, he has the Pokemon Heart Gold Version and Soul Silver Version.

"These two are my favorite Pokemon games, period," he said.

On eBay, Heart Gold sells for $165 and Soul Silver goes for $270.

All of the games came with extra items in the boxes like game tutorials and character information.

SEGA DREAMCAST

One of Richard's most valuable games is for the Sega Dreamcast.

It's Marvel VS Capcom 2, which pits famous characters from both franchises against each other.

There is a listing on eBay offering a copy of the game for $1,350.

He said he had saved up money to buy his own copy and was able to afford it last year.

It was worth it and Richard said it's one of the best games he's ever played.

He added that the games and cases are very fragile, so it's important to keep them somewhere safe.
