Phonics Warm-ups: "ar" sound (ar, a, al, au, ear, er)

Students need to become aware of the various graphemes that represent the sounds (or phonemes) used in our language. This series of powerpoint slides is a great tool for "warm-ups" at the beginning of a lesson or session. They can be used for introducing the phoneme and grapheme, explicitly teaching the sounds and symbols, and for revisiting and consolidating the building blocks for mastering our language, both spoken and written. These slides are easy to flick through on the interactive whiteboard and are ideal for whole class chanting or for small group or individual focus work.
