Queen Letizia of Spain has dazzled royal fans as she steps out for a royal tour in the Netherlands with her husband King Felipe.
The couple are spending two days in the Netherlands this week, where they are being hosted by the Dutch royals Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander. The Spanish couple arrived for the visit on April 16, attending a reception to Spanish community at the NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace Hotel.

Queen Letizia of Spain appeared in high spirits at the event, opting for a trendy gold slip skirt which she paired with a black off-the-shoulder blouse for the outing. The royal mother-of-two swept her brunette bob into a bouncy blow dry style and carried a black clutch. King Felipe VI, who is also widely regarded as amongst the more stylish monarchs in Europe, opted for a smart grey suit for the occasion.
After the event, they were officially welcomed to the country by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, joining the couple for a welcome ceremony on Dam Square today. The foursome, who are known to have a close relationship, greeted one another warmly at the Dam Palace in the Amsterdam.
Known for her bold fashion choices, Maxima opted for a vibrant red ensemble for the outing, pairing a matching blouse with a skirt, gloves, heels and clutch bag. Even the royal's fascinator perfectly matched her scarlet outfit. Queen Letizia opted for an equally elegant ensemble, donning a tweed turquoise midi dress and camel fascinator. Later, as the heavens opened, Letizia wrapped up in a tan fur lined cape.
The two families are believed to share a close bond, with Crown Princess Amalia even living in Madrid for a number of years. It emerged this week that the heir-to-the-throne was forced to move away from her home in Amsterdam because of severe security threats made against her.
Their children have grown up side by side, with their daughters even attending the same school. Princess Leonor of Spain, who is the heir to the Spanish throne, was classmates with Princess Alexia of the Netherlands at Atlantic College in Vale of Glamorgan, with the couples coming together to attend their graduation ceremony in 2023. Executive director of UWC International, Jens Waltermann, previously said Princess Leonor was joining ‘4,500 other students from 155 countries, and from a diverse range of backgrounds, who will be studying at one of our 18 schools’.
The couples are also regularly seen attending royal events across Europe together. The Spanish and Dutch royals were both seen at Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, as well as King Charles' coronation events last year, where they were seated close to one another.
