On Friday, the ever-sumptuous Queen Letizia of Spain dazzled onlookers, as she stepped out in the northern city of Logroño with a chic silvery streak within her head of dark, glossy locks. The Spanish royal was there attending a language and journalism seminar at the Monastery of Yuso. As always, the Queen radiated beauty and style, as she showed off her shiny silver strands, embracing ageing – as would be expected – in the most graceful way imaginable. She sported an elegant look, wearing a black leather coat, along with a sweater and brown trousers. She topped off the image, with a pair of ravishing gold diamond hoop earrings and a black bag with gold straps. The Queen was ever sociable, talking with members of the general public. On Tuesday, she was seen at a different journalistic event, as she celebrated the 25th anniversary of the newspaper La Razón.

As a former journalist herself, this royal venture seemed almost full circle for the Spanish Queen. Before marrying King Felipe, she worked for many years in the media. She studied journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid, as well as completing an MA at the Institute for Studies in Audiovisual Journalism. She worked at multiple Spanish news outlets, including the newspapers La Nueva España and ABC. Her work would bring her into broadcast journalism, working for renowned international TV stations like Bloomberg and CNN. She reported on significant historical events such as 9/11 and the Iraq War. Her marriage to King Felipe in 2004 was widely seen as a fairytale-esque romance due to her own middle-class upbringing and career.

The Queen has also been seen recently supporting her 18-year-old daughter Princess Leonor. Leonor, who began her three years of military training this year, has been participating in a variety of events and parades. At a flag swearing-in ceremony last month, both the King and Queen watched on with great affection for their daughter. More recently, as the nation descended into ‘Leonormania’ (as it has been dubbed), the presumed future monarch of Spain signed an oath of loyalty to her country's constitution. Her mother stood by her side during the ceremony, watching with great pride.
Earlier this month, the Queen and King Felipe also visited Denmark, where they greeted Margrethe II, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary. The couple embarked on a series of excursions including a visit to a Sorolla exhibition in Copenhagen and a state banquet held at Christiansborg Palace.
