Yeah, they made his face thinner, longer and his eyes are too bugged out. I would say it is 70-80% likeness.

(shrugs). Like I said, looking at this with dispassionate detachment, it sure looks like this character, and actor, to me.

If I were in the market for something like this, I suppose my criteria for what I found an acceptable likeness, would be a lot more exacting and precise.
But still- look at the image on the bottom far right and compare with the two on the left. Three screencaps and it almost looks like a different person to me in one of them.
As a synthesis of those disparate appearances, I's say the JND sculpt (and hair and paint work) looks good.

Thanks for the comparison pdenham,

I don't think these still shots capture his 3D image very well, as you can see that the face on the bottom left (more rounded, smaller eyes) is very different than the bottom right.

We still have the caveat of not seeing the headsculpt in person, but overall I don't see the actor's face in there mostly because of the eyes and expression.

If it wasn't for the hair and the clothing I wouldn't have known who it is..

I tend to agree after seeing the photo comparison.

No offence to the actor, but the headsculpt of the statue seems to have a slightly more handsome face and it looks a bit Hispanic rather than East Asian to me, IMO. It reminds me a little of Tony in Scar Face.

So, I suppose the usual 70% likeness rule on all the other JND's statues in the past also applies to this new statue here.

It doesn't surprise me at all. It is sort-of what I would expect from JND - incredible hyper-realism with not so incredible likeness.

The beard and moustache look sculpted? Where is JND's realistic hand punched hair on those parts?
