A second copy, very large. The De Marinis copy. The same binding tools are found on Davis Gift 262, a 1523 Aldine Cicero.


4to (217 x 136 mm). Italic type, 36 lines plus headline. collation: a-h8 i6: 70 leaves (e7-8 blank). Woodcut Aldine device on title-page and final verso. (Occasional light soiling, closed repair to margin of i3.)


binding: Contemporary Venetian red morocco (226 x 144 mm) by the Mendoza Binder (Andrea di Lorenzo?), two concentric frames of blind fillets with gilt fleuron at inner corners and central knotwork tool, spine with blind hatching, gilt edges, stubs of four pairs of green silk ties, early paper label on spine with manuscript title; in pink cloth folding case. (Lightly stained, ends of spine slightly chipped, label chipped, front hinge a little weak.)
