Stand-in Arsenal captain Manuel Almunia conceded the side failed to give 100 per cent in their 2-0 UEFA Champions League loss to Porto.
A much-changed Gunners side were far from their best in Portugal as their opponents claimed pole position in Group G.
Spanish goalkeeper Almunia, who skippered the side in Cesc Fabregas' absence, was disappointed with the performance and admitted they deserved little from the game.
He told
Sky Sports: "When we lose we have to think about what we did badly and what we have to do to improve, whether it is the first team or not.
"Everyone that is wearing an Arsenal shirt has to give 100 per cent and that was not apparent tonight.

"We were not in the game at any moment. We didn't pass the ball well, we lost too many balls and this way, you always lose.
"We lost 2-0 and had no shots on target at any time. We didn't feel good on the pitch and just weren't in the game."
Almunia went on to praise the travelling Arsenal fans for their support for full-back Emmanuel Eboue, who was criticised at Emirates Stadium last weekend.
He added: "I think the fans did very well and supported the player. They realised they have to support this player, at least in the game.
"If they want to criticise the player after the game they have the right of course."
