Eric Abidal has been included in Barcelona's squad for their Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

Full-back returns to the fold, while Iniesta could also face Real

Eric Abidal has been included in Barcelona's squad for their UEFA Champions League clash with Real Madrid. The French full-back has not played since mid-March, when it was discovered that he had a tumour on his liver Abidal underwent a three-hour operation to have the tumour removed on 17th March and it was initially unclear how long he would be sidelined for. Barca always maintained that they would give the defender as long as he needed to make a full recovery and would not be rushing him back. They have, however, been given the green light to usher him back into the fold before the end of the season.

Advantage

Barca's medical team gave the all clear on Monday, meaning Abidal is free to figure against Real on Tuesday. Andres Iniesta is also back in contention for a crunch continental encounter with Jose Mourinho's side. The Spain international missed the first leg of Barca's semi-final showdown with Real with a calf problem. He will return to the team with Pep Guardiola's side aiming to defend their 2-0 advantage and secure a place in the final - which will be held at Wembley on 28th May.
