« I dedicate myself to being aware of all my actions, thoughts and desires because I believe that if we all start with ourselves in doing good, we will never think of doing evil to our natural or social environment. »
Alejandra Zermeño is an accomplished Mexican sculptor whose works have featured in prizes and exhibitions throughout Mexico and North America. She focuses primarily on examining human perceptions of reality and how our material world is influenced by our mental, emotional and creative limitations. Concentrating particularly on the ego, she constructs sculptures that represent humans caught in the trap of convention, fear and frustration. Zermeño seeks to compose concepts linked to the healthy development of a human being, and typically uses bronze as her chosen material in doing so.
