Former Texas A&M Aggies WR Demond Demas Headed To Big Ten Program?

Former Texas A&M receiver Demond Demas could be headed to a Big Ten location in 2024.

Former Texas A&M receiver Demond Demas may have unveiled his new home for the 2024 season.

On his Instagram account, Demas' page reads: “Ball Catcher @huskerfootball.” That link takes you to the Nebraska football Instagram account.

According to records, however, Demas has not made any official announcement on joining Matt Rhule's squad for 2024. Demas was reportedly offered a scholarship midseason at Garden City Community College.

Demas, a former five-star receiver from Tomball (Texas), is looking for another shot back at the Power 5 level following his fallout at A&M. One of the top recruits to ever commit to the program, Demas dealt with multiple off-the-field that ultimately led to his dismissal from the program in the spring of 2022.

On July 6, 2022, Demas pled guilty in Brazos County, Texas, to a third-degree felony charge of violating a bond and a protective order twice within a 12-month period, according to Brazos County Court Records. Demas also pled guilty to a Class A misdemeanor charge of family violence assault that caused injury. He was sentenced to five years of probation with deferred adjudication.

Demas redshirted his freshman season in 2020 and played sparingly in 2021. In 10 games, Demas caught 15 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown.

Last season, while at GCCC, Demas showed adaptability in the passing game. In eight games with the Broncbusters, he totaled 29 catches for 329 yards and one touchdown.

Nebraska is looking to up its offense after a woeful passing attack after finishing 129th nationally in passing. The Huskers recently hosted former Ohio State five-star receiver, along with former Buckeyes quarterback Kyle McCord.
