Highway 2000 #BestOfSaturn

SHIRO! SHOW Recap

The 90s were a time of arcade racers… Genki’s Highway 2000 rolled onto the Saturn scene in late 1996 and was largely ignored. The game features 5 tracks and a ‘lady companion’ for the driver, whom he is constantly trying to impress. Look, it’s no Daytona or SEGA Rally, but racing fans will probably find some enjoyment to squeeze out of this one.

Highway 2000, developed by Genki and published in all regions: as Wangan Dead Heat and published by Pack-In Video in 1995 in Japan, published by Natsume in 1996 in North America, and published by JVC in 1996 in Europe.
This section really reminds of Ridge Racer!
The graphics, in motion, are somewhat blocky and pixelated – but they are by no means garbage!
Looks like it’s about to rain.

Peter Malek

A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming 'firsts' were commonplace.  There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in!
