Lately, the blonde bombshell has been making headlines for her leading role in Netflix’s Interceptor. Although the action-adventure film received, ahem, mixed reviews from critics, it’s still been the talk of the town, ranking No 1 in several countries on the popular streaming platform since its release in early June. Pataky plays a plucky army captain on a mission to prevent a missile attack in the US.

The actress, who’s already known for her fit physique and workout regime, wowed audiences with her incredible four-month transformation for the film. But it didn’t come easy – she worked hard to prepare for the role. “I wanted to have the same physique as strong women that I’ve seen, these US army girls they really prepare,” she told Australia’s Now to Love.

She’s a successful model

Although Pataky is best known for her acting roles, she’s also a very successful model.

In 2017 alone, according to MSN, she raked in US$75 million for various modelling gigs.

Pataky and Hemsworth have three children together: India, 10, and eight-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan. Although their eldest wasn’t present at the recent Thor: Love & Thunder premiere, their twin boys were, and seemed to steal the show at their first red carpet appearance. Fans were recently excited to learn that Tristan even plays the young version of his dad’s character in the upcoming fourth instalment, based on scenes from the trailer (and a quick look at the acting credits on IMDB). A mini Thor in the making!

It’s not the kids’ first flash of stardom though, as the Hemsworth children have already been featured on a Vogue Australia cover together with their mum back in 2020. Vogue before 10? That sounds like a pretty good start to us.

With her Spanish roots and quintessentially laid-back Australian lifestyle (the couple moved from LA to Byron Bay in 2015), Pataky’s fashion sense was described by Vogue in 2018 as being boho with an edge – “part rock ‘n’ roll, part gypsy Earth mum”.

Pataky told the mag her look has changed over the years to suit her busy family schedule, “When I was living in Madrid, I had to [dress] more urbane. But if you go into my wardrobe now it’s very relaxed because I have three kids, so I can’t go out in heels!”

Her style is simple, but effective. “I have one bag that I use all the time and own far more comfortable clothes that have an edge, so I still like to feel like I am dressing up. It looks really casual but it’s ‘done’, you know?”

For formal events, she’s been snapped wearing Victoria Beckham, Dolce & Gabbana and Alberta Ferretti.

But the on-set surprises go both ways it seems. In 2014, Pataky subbed in for Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster in Thor: The Dark World during some of the kissing scenes when she was unable to make certain filming days. “It was for reshoots [after the film was finished] and he was working in Hong Kong and I couldn’t get there because I was working on my own film,” Portman told the New York Daily News, “and so they put his wife in my wig and costume – that’s why it was so passionate. It was such a perfect solution, wasn’t it?”

The couple also starred in action-drama 12 Strong together in 2018. Meanwhile, Pataky has two new films on the way, Carmen and Poker Face – the latter also starring Russell Crowe and her brother-in-law Liam Hemsworth.

With a combined fortune of US$180 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Pataky and Hemsworth could very well be Hollywood’s most discreet power couple. Nevertheless, they’re not shy about showing their support for another through their social media channels and by attending one another’s red carpets and promos.

Both super fit, they also share a common love for intense workout routines, with Pataky once saying she trusts her husband’s advice: “He gives good tips, especially about nutrition.”
