Methacrylic anhydride is a reactive monomer used primarily in preparation of other monomers under mild reaction conditions. The action mechanism of methacrylic anhydride is thought to entail the creation of a covalent bond between methacrylic acid and acetic anhydride molecules, resulting in the generation of a novel compound.
