Balthazar On (born in France in 1995) had the chance to be introduced to the art world by her mother. She showed him museums all over the world during her numerous trips. As a kid growing up in Europe, he found most Italian masters a little bit boring but, he was fascinated by Gaudi, Duchamps, and Warhol. He loved bright colors, mosaic, ready-made, and pop culture. Later in life, he decided to start making the artworks he would have loved to see as a kid by mixing bright colors, kids' icons, and one of the most common toys, Rubik's cubes. The originality of this work is the technique and the three-dimensional effect obtained by the Rubiks cubes. As cubes are stuck to a wooden panel, you can look at the side of the artwork and see that it is made out of real cubes.
